Did you know that the average Aussie will go through almost 300 toothbrushes and more than 400 toothpaste tubes during their lifetime? That’s a lot of products that cannot be recycled through traditional kerbside recycling which could end up in landfill.
At Jamestown Dental we have partnered with Terracycle Australia for their Oral Care Recycling Program. We have a drop off point located in our waiting room where you can drop off you old tooth brushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers.
Once collected, the tubes and brushes are separated by composition, shredded and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products which may include outdoor furniture and decking, plastic shipping pallets, watering cans, storage containers and bins, tubes for construction applications, flooring tiles, playground surface covers and athletic fields, and much more.
Help us reduce your landfill waste and drop in your old toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes! We’d love to see you all recycling and taking care of your teeth.
