At Jamestown Dental, we pride ourselves on our exemplary infection control standards. We’ve always emphasised the importance of infection control and in these extraordinary times, infection control is even more important than ever to ensure your safety whilst receiving dental care.
We adhere to universal infection control procedures. This means we:
- Use an autoclave to sterilise our instruments
- We disinfect all surgery surfaces between patients
- We always wash our hands before and after seeing patients
- Use personal protective equipment including gloves, level 2 surgical masks and protective eye glasses
- We also ensure you are protected with glasses and a bib
Since the outbreak of corona virus we have also added additional infection control measures:
- Conducting dentistry in accordance with restrictions outlined from the AHPPC and Australian and South Australian Government
- Screened patients prior to appointments to ensure we only see low risk clients
- Encouraged use of alcohol gel for all patients on arrival and departure
- Removed all reading material from the waiting room
- Moved chairs in the waiting room to enable social distancing
- Limited cross over between patients
- Increased frequency of cleaning our front desk and door handles
- Introduced a pre-examination mouthwash to reduce microbial load in the oral cavity
We pride ourselves of the provision of safe dental care with high standards of infection control to ensure you maintain good oral and general health. We are now back practicing under level 1 restrictions, we hope to see you again soon.
